Monday Maker’s Minute: My Name is Dianne, and I’m a Tool Addict

I admit it—I have a thing for tools. If there were a 12-step program for jewelry makers with tool obsessions, I’d be on step one clutching my new Tronex pliers and flush cutters, refusing to give them up.

These beauties are my latest studio addition, and I couldn’t be more smitten. Let’s talk about why:

🔧 The Flush Cutters – Razor sharp and precise, they make perfectly flush cuts with ease. No weird nubs or crushed ends to clean up—just clean, smooth wire ends. If you work with silver as much as I do, you know how satisfying that is.

🔩 The Pliers – Strong enough to wrangle 16 gauge wire like it’s soft butter. And the grip? Incredibly comfortable, and not sticky like some other brands. These tools are clearly made with real hands and real work in mind.

📦 I just placed another order: round nose pliers, a heavy-duty flush cutter for thicker wire, and some bent nose pliers to round out the lineup. Yes, they’re pricier than your average tool, but honestly? I consider them an investment in comfort, quality, and longevity. I can't imagine needing to replace them—ever.

So here’s your PSA: if you’re in the market for tools that pull their weight in the studio and feel good in your hands, Tronex might be worth a look. Just don’t blame me if you end up joining the club.
