Caring for Silver Jewelry (and Why I Include a Cloth)

Sterling silver loves to be worn—but when it’s not, it can tarnish. That soft gray or golden tone that appears on the surface is totally natural—it’s just silver reacting to air, humidity, or even the oils on our skin. Some people love that patina because it adds character, but if you prefer your silver bright, it’s easy to care for.

The best ways to keep your jewelry looking its best:

  • Wear it often — silver actually stays shinier when it’s against your skin.

  • Store it smart — keep it in a soft pouch or airtight container when you’re not wearing it.

  • Give it a quick polish — a few gentle wipes with a Sunshine® cloth will bring back that glow instantly.

That’s why I include a polishing cloth with every Divella Designs piece. It’s a little tool you’ll use over and over again, along with the reusable pouch that protects your jewelry in between wearings.

Because at the end of the day, your silver jewelry should be something you reach for often, not something you worry about maintaining. A little care goes a long way toward keeping it beautiful for years to come.
