Bluejay Breakfast (Thanks, Birdfy!)

I got this Birdfy feeder for Mother’s Day, and honestly? It’s been one of the best gifts. Since setting it up, I’ve had birds at it every day—sometimes hundreds (450 just yesterday!) going through seed like it’s an all-you-can-eat buffet.

But this moment stopped me in my tracks: a bluejay family, with Mom and her three juveniles, all visiting together in the early morning. I’ve never been able to watch a little bird family like this up close. The way she keeps an eye on them, the way they wait their turn—it’s sweet and surprisingly moving.

Living in rural Vermont, nature is all around me—but Birdfy gives me a front-row seat to the quiet little stories I’d otherwise miss.
