Handmade vs Mass Produced

🌿 Monday’s Maker’s Minute
Why is handmade silver jewelry more expensive than mass-produced pieces?

This is such a great question—and one I get from time to time!

The short answer? Time, materials, and intention.

✨ Time & Skill
Each piece I make is crafted start to finish by hand. That means sawing, shaping, soldering, stone setting, finishing—every step done by me at the bench, not a machine on a factory line. No shortcuts here!

🔨 Materials Matter
I don’t buy bulk bags of mystery metal. I source high-quality sterling silver and natural gemstones in small batches from ethical or family-run suppliers. That costs more, but it’s worth it.

💡 Design & Uniqueness
Mass-produced pieces are made to appeal to everyone. My pieces are made to speak to someone. Every design is one-of-a-kind, inspired by nature and crafted with care. That kind of originality can’t be duplicated at scale.

So when you invest in handmade, you're not just buying jewelry—you’re supporting a real person, a small studio, and a whole lotta heart.

Thanks for choosing handmade 💛
See you next Monday!
