Winston the Woodland Owl Sterling Silver and Golden Hills Turquoise Necklace

Winston has been hanging around the studio for a while, watching everything I do with that slightly judgmental owl expression of his. It was finally time to give him a proper place in the woods.

Handcrafted in sterling silver, Winston is paired with a beautiful piece of Golden Hills turquoise, sourced from Jeff at Stone Shaper Designs. Its soft robin’s-egg blue and natural matrix are a gorgeous contrast to the darkened and textured silver.

The pendant measures just over 2 inches long and hangs from an 18-inch sterling silver chain. I oxidized the silver and polished back the raised areas to bring out all of Winston’s feathers, eyes, and rather impressive eyebrows.

And because no two natural stones are quite alike, this is the only Winston exactly like this one.
